BLUEPRINTS

For the Blueprints exhibition, which opened June of 2022, we worked with Columbus, Indiana's Visitor Center, in conjunction with their Juneteenth programming, to highlight local artists of color in the community. In doing so, we were able to uncover hidden gems and highlight those who have been involved in the local history of the town. The concept was centered around ‘the artist as an architect’, creating material culture and innovating a more equitable future for those following behind. As a result the community participated in a much needed dialogue.
During the exhibition artists were given the opportunity to speak about their work and engage with the community. Several pieces sold at the opening reception, and others during the extended exhibition.
