One Drop's inaugural self-titled pop-up exhibit opened in Indianapolis, Indiana during October 2022. Twenty five artists participated with nearly eighty artworks on display. The full day event included spoken word and musical performances, live painting, and a rich environment for mingling and engaging with the diasporic artwork. Attendants were given the opportunity to learn about the history of the One-Drop Rule in U.S. legislation and gain a deeper understanding for our reclamation of the notion, which serves to include all people of color in our mission to build a more equitable art world. Proceeds from the show were donated to Refuge Place Indy, a local non-profit dedicated to serving houseless people in Indianapolis.
